Kathy Bates is a star of the screen and stage, her next project will bring her to the steaming services of Netflix. She will team will producer and writer Chuck Lorre (The Big Bang Theory and Mom) for the 3o minute comedy called Disjointed. The show has been ordered for a full 20 episode first season, which is well above the average length of Netflix shows. The plot will follow Bates, who will play a pot smoker that has dreams of owning her own dispensary. Let’s hope that with the show being on Netflix, and not network television, Lorre will be able to shave off some of the cheesy and family friendly jokes that can bog down his other comedic works. Hopefully, the show will be in the same vein as another Netflix show with other older talents Grace and Frankie. Smoking pot and embracing her age has worked well for Lilly Tomiln, and garnered two Emmy nominations for Grace and Frankie. So, let’s hope the script is of high caliber and euphoric role for Bates.

The official synopsis from Netflix is, “Disjointed is a workplace comedy starring Kathy Bates as a lifelong advocate for legalization who’s finally living her dream as the owner of an L.A.–area cannabis dispensary. Joining her are three budtenders, her twenty-something son and a deeply troubled security guard. All of them are more or less constantly high.”
